Welcome to the Anusara yoga teacher certification curriculum area! Thank you for your interest in becoming a certified Anusara yoga teacher. The certified Anusara yoga teacher's main intention is to serve each student and to help them unveil their innate goodness, worthiness, and Supreme nature. With love, respect and honor, the Anusara yoga teacher is dedicated to serving and helping each student build his or her self-esteem. Another emphasis for Anusara yoga teachers is evoking light-heartedness, play, fun, celebration and joyful creativity in the student's yoga practice. Students are also encouraged to be independent in their thinking and to resist mindless conformity.

Anusara yoga is a nationally Registered Yoga School through Yoga Alliance that offers yoga teacher certification for teachers who meet requirements that fulfill national standards. Additionally, Anusara yoga certification is among the most professional and demanding in the industry of yoga teaching. All certified Anusara yoga teachers complete several years of study, including hundreds of classroom hours with certified Anusara yoga teachers. They all go through multiple teacher training courses and teach professionally for at least two years, before formally entering the certification process.

Once all the prerequisites have been met, an application may be submitted for certification. The application will be reviewed and if approved, the teacher will be asked to submit both a written exam and a video presentation of one of their classes for review and feedback. The written exam and the video can be submitted at different times and in any order.

An application fee of $375 is required with whatever is first submitted, the video or exam.

Anusara yoga certification is designed to be a wonderful process of education and esteem-building, so there is no failure in this process.

Once all requirements of the certification process have been fulfilled, the following must also occur: 
  1. An Anusara yoga teacher's license agreement must be signed
  2. Payment of a final certificate fee of $50
  3. Payment of pro-rated annual licensing dues

Once the above have been met, the teacher then earns the legal right to promote oneself as a certified Anusara yoga teacher. A beautiful Anusara yoga teaching certificate will be mailed to the teacher, and he or she we will be listed in Anusara's online Teachers' Directory as a certified Anusara yoga teacher.

If, in the future, if a teacher loses or decides to terminate his or her certified licensed status with Anusara, then the teacher may still advertise that he or she was "once Anusara yoga certified." However, the teacher is not permitted to promote himself or herself as a certified Anusara yoga teacher if his or her Anusara license is not active.
