Yoga Background
Ann Louise Moxey, born in Argentina of British parents, took up yoga in 1991 to reduce stress related to her work as a Foreign Correspondent. She worked in Television and Radio for 25 years and was the first woman appointed to the post as Latin American Bureau Chief for Reuters TV (formerly Visnews), later working in the area for European, US and Latin Broadcasters. She started teaching yoga to Street Kids in Mexico City while completing her Social Service for a US University degree in Psychology. While completing post graduate studies (Specialization in Addictions) she trained with John Friend, Desikachar, Trish O`Reilly, Rodney Yee, Donna Fahri and Dona Holleman/Herta Rogg. Her teaching has been mainly influenced by John Friend.

She developed and led a group therapy dynamic which she called "Meditation Therapy" for patients in the five week program at the Rehab Clinic Monte Fenix, where she had originally trained as a Specialist in Addictions. She gives courses for professionals in the field in the use of Hatha Yoga for Addictions. She registered Parinaama Yoga as the Yoga she uses for Addictions. She gave the same name to the Prison Project she founded in 2003 and dedicated to John Friend, which is still active and growing in two prisons in the state of Morelos. She recently moved near the prison to better attend to the project's needs. On 15th August 2008, Anusara's 11th birthday, she inaugurated her retreat center, Sukhi Kutir, named after Baba Muktananda's meditation hut. She currently teaches in Cuernavaca and leads Immersions, Teacher Trainings, workshops and retreats in her own space Sukhi Kutir, twenty minutes outside Cuernavaca city, about an hour and twenty minutes outside Mexico City. She also teaches in Cuernavaca.
