Professional Background  
A well-travelled childhood led Kate to a degree in modern languages. She then spent almost 7 years in the technology industry, where she discovered yoga helped her find steadiness and perspective in a stressful job and busy city life. Kate has taught yoga since 2001, alongside helping emerging social entrepreneurs develop their confidence and skills. She moved to Devon in 2008 and now lives in the woods on Dartmoor.



Yoga Background  
Kate has an intuitive, informed and inspiring style of teaching, grounded in over a decade of yoga and meditation practice and training within several traditions in the UK, US and India. In 2005 she discovered Anusara and has never looked back, becoming one of the first Anusara-Inspired teachers in the UK and is now working towards Certification. She is very grateful in particular to John Friend and Bridget Woods-Kramer for their continuing inspiration and support. Kate aims to make the teachings of yoga relevant to modern life, and in each class or workshop you can expect to find a key philosophical theme alongside clear instructions and playful challenges.

Q: What other hobbies do you have aside from yoga practice?
A: I love to take my dog out for walks on Dartmoor, atlhough he is prone to go off chasing rabbits!

Q: What is the title of a book that you have read recently that you could strongly recommend?
A: Cutting through Spiritual Materialism by Chogyam Trungpa

Q: What is one of your all-time favorite movies?
A: The Unbearable Lightness of Being still resonates with me many years after I first saw it - plus I love almost any of Werner Herzog's films.

Q: What is one place that you would like to visit in the world? Why?
A: My home in Devon. Because I don't spend enough time there!

Q: What's your favorite color?
A: It varies from day to day but I consistently love a good ripe tomato red

Q: What award in high school should you have won?
A: The best late sleeper ever!

Q: What is one of the funniest incidents that occurred in one of your yoga classes?
A: I was guiding students through savasana at the end of a workshop when a workman started drilling on the roof of the studio - I could even see him through the skylights! I congratulate my students for keeping their inner focus as I was shouting at them to make myself heard! Luckily they were all so tired and happy to be lying down that they didn't mind all that much ;-)
