Professional Background
A Gulf Coast native, I live in Fairhope, Alabama with my musician husband, Burke Ingraffia and our two shelter rescue doggies Bear and Reggie. We spend a lot of time in Burke's hometown, New Orleans. I love photography, sewing, French culture and language, technology, riding bikes, and COFFEE. I love learning and classroom environments. I thoroughly enjoy my life as it is now. If I weren't teaching yoga and running a yoga studio full time, I would be in Law School, or practicing law. There's plenty of time...
Yoga Background
I began a dedicated practice in 1998 in Los Angeles at Yoga Works and The Iyengar Institute of Los Angeles. I continued Iyengar studies, various flow styles, and Ashtanga Vinyasa studies in New Orleans. In 2005 I attended an Anusara workshop with John Friend. In 2007 I completed a 200 Hour RYT course at Yoga Yoga in Austin. That same year, after completing Immersions 1&2 I chose to solely dedicate myself and my practice to Anusara studies. I am pursuing certification in the Anusara method. In July 2010 I joyfully signed the licensing agreement and am so very proud to be an Anusara-Inspired Yoga Teacher.

Q: What is one of the funniest incidents that occurred in one of your yoga classes?
A: I was teaching in a gym in New Orleans. A very charismatic, bulked-up, super-tan, sunglasses/headband wearing, body builder type of guy came to one of my classes. He took the space front and center. We went through a few surya namaskars for warm ups, he was very vocal, and began loud grunting. Then he abruptly yelled out "Is this all ya got??!!". Despite being startled and thrown off, I re-focused and resumed the class as he continued to heckle me throughout the entire session-- seemingly for his own amusement or possibly as a self-motivational tool. The more challenging a pose was for him, the more he yelled at me to "Give me all ya got" or "I ain't no sissy. Come on! Lay it on me". It was so absurd, that I was holding back an avalanche of laughter as were most of the other participants. Although funny-ish to a certain degree, I had to report the man to management. It turns out he was a training to be a pro-wrestler (think Hulk Hogan) and was working on his character. Apparently the yoga was very hard for him which made him all the more 'excited'. Tres bizarre!
