Questions and Answers

Q: What other hobbies do you have aside from yoga practice?
A: I am also a certified Early Childhood Montessori teacher. I learn so much from being with these young children - about myself and about human nature... about how to really flow with grace and be in my heart. They love yoga of course & remind me of the importance of play and the ultimate power of love. I also spend a lot of time reading (mostly fantasy novels) and searching for ways to connect to the earth more deeply.

Q: What is the title of a book that you have read recently that you could strongly recommend?
A: Both The Curse of Chalion & The Paladin of Souls. By Loius MacMaster Bujold. Admittedly I am a Fantasy geek... but really these two books are amazing and deal with many interesting Spiritual ideas.

Q: What is one of your all-time favorite movies?
A: The Princess Bride. It is just a classic.

Q: What is one place that you would like to visit in the world? Why?
A: I've been lucky to visit most of the places that I've felt drawn to... For many years I have been saying that I would love to go spend time on some of the other Hawaiian Islands (i have only been to Oahu). Every time I have visited even Oahu I feel very centered and in contact with my highest guidance.... and now I live in Maui... live is indeed grand!

Q: What's your favorite color?
A: It changes... lately it has been turquoise.

Q: What is one of the funniest incidents that occurred in one of your yoga classes?
A: This studio was a ground floor studio in North Carolina. Windows lined one entire wall, that looked out onto a courtyard. It was beautiful out so we naturally had the shades up. I started the class with a heartfelt intro about the beauty of the present moment. As they closed their eyes to center I see a small boy (think 4 years old) with a huge foot ball helmet on walk up to our window and look in... parents no where in sight. The class is breathing... then BANG. The small boy - looking in at all of us - bangs his head against the window. I didn't really expect that. I direct the class to there breath... BANG he does it again. Finally a few students open there eyes and we all start cracking up. Really... it was so unexpected and random that it was pretty hilarious.
