Professional Background
I have a B.A. in Psychology and a B.S. in Nursing from The University of Mississippi. I worked as a patient care coordinator and critical care nurse. I have also worked in the Fitness Industry since 1983...taught aerobics in the "Jane Fonda" days, Step, Kickboxing and Personal Training.... all the way to the year 2001, when I fell in love with yoga. I also played tennis competitively and have been an avid runner for many years. Ran my first marathon just after my 40th Birthday!! I have 2 fabulous teenage kids who teach me so much about love and life! I am very blessed!!

Yoga Background
In 2001, I took my first yoga class...in my living room with a DVD! I was hooked...first because it was another way to workout...but then, the real work came....personal examination, spiritual considerations, questions about life...whoa!! There were NO yoga classes in our area and so,I started to travel as often as possible, to sample different styles, teachers, and to educate myself about something that I had never even considered! At that time, I was a personal trainer and began to incorporate yoga in my sessions with my clients. I started teaching at the Y...eventually opening my own yoga studio. I discovered Anusara Yoga in the year 2004. When I heard the words "Align with the Divine" and "Follow Your Heart"...I knew I had found my style!! I then set out to meet John in October, in Atlanta, at a weekend workshop. I loved him and the whole experience. I am sooooo very grateful to be on this amazing path of transformation...back to myself, who I am, and who I am meant to be! In addition to my studio, I teach at a residential treatment center for patients in recovery from sex addiction.

Q: What is the title of a book that you have read recently that you could strongly recommend?
A: "Eat, Pray and Love"...I bet everybody says that! and "A Return to Love"...read this about 3 years ago, and picked it back up..I think everyone should read this book! It is filled with things that I wish I had known when I was younger!

Q: What is one of your all-time favorite movies?
A: "The Grinch Who Stole Christmas".....The people in Whoville did not allow their joy to be stolen! The joy of Christmas was not in their toys and the noise...but truly in their hearts!! What a fine example to inspire the Grinch to change his life!! I also love the narrator's voice!

Q: What is one place that you would like to visit in the world? Why?
A: Peru...I feel a strong spiritual connection to this place, and it keeps coming up for me...by the following means...meeting people from Peru, hearing unsolicited stories of Peru, pictures of Peru...I bought a ring that i loved...I did not know it at the time, but, it was a Peruvian Opal! Hmmm??
