Professional Background
I had different accounting jobs for about 15 years and I was an administrative assistant for about 10 years.

Yoga Background
My first teacher, in 1980, was the owner of the natural food store of a small village in Quebec. After that, I studied with Mollie Lawson in Montreal for about 3 years and another 3 years or so at the Iyengar Yoga Centre, also in Montreal. In 1991, I took a 3-week teacher training at the Shree Muktananda Ashram in South Fallsburg, New York. Doing an effortless Warrior II in front of Gurumayi Chidvilasananda was the most revelatory event of my life!
From 1989 to about 1994, I taught part-time hatha yoga classes at the Siddha Yoga Montreal Centre, among others. In 1995, I moved to the country and continued to practice on my own.
It is the unique heart-oriented style of the Anusara Yoga that brought me back to a more committed study and to teaching. Since 2003, I have been studying Anusara Yoga, mostly with Robin Golt and Barrie Risman, certified Anusara teachers in Montreal. And since September 2004, I have been teaching Anusara-inspired yoga in my own studio in Mont-Laurier, Quebec.

Questions and Answers

Q: What other hobbies do you have aside from yoga practice?
A: My main hobby is gardening vegetables and flowers. It is more than just a hobbie for me, it is like a teacher. It teaches me secrets from Nature.

Q: What is the title of a book that you have read recently that you could strongly recommend?
A: The Harry Potter Series. What I saw in this story is that Harry Potter's victory over Voldemort was possible because Harry was able to overcome the 5 afflictions, or kleshas, in his own life.

Q: What is one of your all-time favorite movies?
A: La Belle Verte, a French movie, from Coline Serreau, 1996.

Q: What is one place that you would like to visit in the world? Why?
A: Gurudev Siddha Peeth Ashram, in Ganeshpuri, India. That will be the pilgrimage of my life, to visit such a sacred place imbued with the spiritual power of my Guru, Gurumayi Chidvilasananda and her own Guru, Baba Muktananda.

Q: What's your favorite color?
A: All shades of green in spring, the yellow flowers in summer, the red maple leaves in fall, the white snow in winter and the blue sky all year long.

Q: What award in high school should you have won?
A: During my last year of high school, I was elected vice-president of the school board. I stayed in office until the end of the school year, even if all the other committee members had given up around mid-year.

Q: What is one of the funniest incidents that occurred in one of your yoga classes?
A: We were near the end of a class when a cell phone rang. I took this opportunity to indicate the end of relaxation. Nobody really noticed that it was the ringing of a cell phone, except the owner who was very sorry she had forgotten to turn it off. She was also very grateful because I did not blame her. I explained to the students what had happened and we had a good laugh!
