Professional Background
I am married and have two school-age daughters. I am director of development and marketing at the National Museum of Wildlife Art in Jackson Hole, Wyoming and immediate past-president of the Jackson Hole Chamber of Commerce.

I was born in Austin, Texas and raised in Northampton, Massachusetts, and have an MBA from Simmons College and a BS in Finance from Bentley College. I relocated to Jackson Hole in 1990.

Yoga Background
I was first introduced to hatha yoga in my early 20’s through my affiliation with the Nityananda Institute in Cambridge, Massachusetts, an organization dedicated to the study of Kashmir Shaivism. I consider that affiliation a great gift, one which set me on a path of curious discovery and inner reflection. In 2000 I was introduced to Anusara yoga, another fortuitous moment. I approach my practice with humility, humor, and joy. I strive to use good humor and down-to-earth approach to ensure that yoga is accessible to all.

Questions and Answers

Q: What other hobbies do you have aside from yoga practice?
A: I love to read both fiction and non-fiction and visit my local library, with two daughters in tow, at least once per week; I love to hike the trails near the town of Jackson and also in Grand Teton National Park; I love to ride my bike through town, waving to passersby; I am the co-president of our local 4H Rabbit Club and enjoy helping my daughters take care of our Mini Rex bunny, Koko; I'm taking Beginning Spanish with my husband Jim and look forward to becoming conversant in this beautiful language.

Q: What is the title of a book that you have read recently that you could strongly recommend?
A: My favorite book, that I read every few years, is "Angle of Repose" by Wallace Stegner. This is a beautifully written book about the pioneer spirit, a long-held marriage, America's westward expansion, and so much more. My maternal grandmother gave me a copy when I first moved to Jackson Hole, in 1990, and I have treasured it ever since.

Q: What is one of your all-time favorite movies?
A: When Harry Met Sally. I don't know what it is about this movie; maybe it's the vignettes with the long-married couples; maybe it's Billy Crystal's perfect comedic timing; maybe it's the old-timey music score. I know just about every line and watch it at least twice a year. It's a hopeful movie about everyone's search for a partner who understands them, accepts them, forgives them, and loves them.

Q: What is one place that you would like to visit in the world? Why?
A: I would like to follow the Tour de France, thus visit the beautiful mountains of that spectacular country, drink strong coffee, and enjoy their excellent bread.

Q: What's your favorite color?
A: Fushcia!

Q: What award in high school should you have won?
A: I played the trombone and was actually very good. I competed in All State but instead of entering the "classical" category, my strength, I went out on a limb and entered "jazz." I did horribly. I was WAY TOO UPTIGHT! This characteristic is of course with me today, as reflected in my TIGHT HIPS. :)

Q: What is one of the funniest incidents that occurred in one of your yoga classes?
A: Sticking Pincha Mayruasansa in the middle of the room, during a workshop, when I had just asked the teacher if he could help me. This was funny because I had been "over efforting" in this pose for months and something about his gentle grace and accepting spirit created the perfect space for a perfectly held pose. We laughed with joy for several minutes. It was a good moment.
