Professional Background  



Yoga Background  
I was initiated into yoga when I was 33 years old, in 1994, by Gurumayi Chidvilasananda, the spiritual leader of Siddha Yoga. Since then, I have been following the Siddha Yoga path. My love and faith in Gurumayi brought me to India to spend two years studying at the Siddha Yoga Ashram Gurudev Siddha Peeth in Ganesphuri.

Since my first meeting with John Friend, in 1996, he has been my most influential Hatha yoga teacher, and every year I spend several weeks studing Anusara with him and other Anusara certified teachers in training, workshops and classes. Studying Hatha yoga with John, becoming an Anusara Certified Teacher, has been one of the most incredibile gifts I have received in my life.

Q: What other hobbies do you have aside from yoga practice?
A: I love spending time with my lovely son Sashideva. I was a professional race car driver when an accident during a race stopped my career. Although my back was seriously injured, I have since recovered with the help of my yoga practice and now enjoy driving sport cars and skiing in the Alps.

Q: What is the title of a book that you have read recently that you could strongly recommend?
A: The Splendor of Recognition by Swami Shantananda and Shantaram.

Q: What is one of your all-time favorite movies?
A: Blade Runner.

Q: What is one place that you would like to visit in the world? Why?
A: I like to revisit again and again Ganeshpuri (India) because for me, this is the one place in the world where it is easiest to experience the divine grace in every breath you take.

A: Every time I have to teach in English, my accent and english grammar make funny incidents...
